Dr. Sophie Haiden

I completed my law studies at the University of Vienna in 2019. As part of my studies, I spent a semester at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania, where I passed the examinations in European Law and Private International Law with distinction.

I gained practical experience at several well-established law firms in Vienna, working in various areas of law, including air passenger rights, general civil law, real estate law and criminal law.

From 2023 to 2024, I served as a university assistant (prae-doc) at the Department of European, International and Comparative Law at the University of Vienna. During this time, I founded the Air Passenger Rights Day, which was held for the first time in 2023 and has since become an annual event due to its positive reception.

I regularly publish in the field of travel law and give lectures on related topics. In 2025, I established my own law firm with a focus on family law and criminal law. In the same year, I completed my doctoral studies and earned my doctorate with a dissertation on an air-passenger-rights topic.
